Our practice room is intentionally heated to induce numerous physical and psychological benefits. The heat warms your muscles and allows you to work deeper and safer. The heat also heals, helps prevent injuries and promotes sweating which flushes toxins from your body. With persistence, patience and dedication you can lose inches and develop muscle tone and strength that might never come from other forms of exercise. Your clothes will fit better, your posture will be better and your skin will GLOW!

The physical benefits pale in comparison however with the psychological ones. The hot environment commands a sharpening of your mental focus, concentration and willpower during class. Your breath will be your guide, your barometer so to speak. As you move through the poses and learn to give your undivided attention to the breath and the present moment – you will experience a fundamental transformation of how you think about yourself and how you see the world around you. You will learn to find a sense of stillness, calm and ease that with time you will take of the mat and apply to your whole life.
If your new to hot yoga then you’re in the right place!  We LOVE new students! Some Like it Hot Yoga is designed for all levels, beginner through advanced,  all ages, all body types and all athletes.  Tight hips, injuries, back issue, frozen shoulder….if you can’t touch your toes, this is the place to go. Try our classes, you will love it.

As a first timer at the studio, you are eligible for our introductory offer of 2 weeks of unlimited hot yoga for $20. The reason that we offer this package is to give you a chance to fully experience the power of this yoga. It takes a few sessions for your body to acclimate to the heat and that will likely be your focus during those first classes. We want to make sure that you have the opportunity to overcome your focus on the temperature of the room and really get a feel for the practice itself. Come as often as you can during those 14 days so you can make an informed decision about whether you want to continue your journey with us afterwards.

Class Preparations for New Students

Please arrive 15-20 minutes before the class you wish to take. You will need to fill out a quick registration form and discuss any injuries/health issues with your instructor prior to class.  New students will benefit from not rushing into their first class.  This time will allow you to get settled into the room and lie down on your mat, acclimate to room before the class begins. Yoga is meant to be enjoyed, it’s important to take is slow your first class and have fun with it.

Wear what you feel good sweating in. Breathable fabric is recommended, avoid cotton if possible. Shoes or socks are not needed in practice room.

Come to class hydrated. Make sure that you drink water throughout the day before you practice and remember to drink plenty of water after your practice to stay hydrated. Water & Coconut water are available for purchase or bring your own. Glass bottles must have a sleeve around it, please.

Come to class on an empty stomach.   We recommend that if you are hungry, eat something ‘light’ within the hour or two before you practice.  You want to have food in your belly for fuel, but you don’t want to eat a big meal and then go to yoga an hour or two later.   Some people need more or less time to digest, as you practice more you will see what works best for you in the heated room.

What do I need for my first class?   Yoga mat, long towel and water. Each student is required to have all three while practicing. First time students get to use one of our rental mats & towels FREE of charge for their first visit only.  After that, we sell Manduka yoga mats and Yogitoes, or we rent them for $2 each.

The goal for your first class is to remain in studio the entire class. Feel free to take a break whenever you feel necessary by laying down or sitting quietly on your mat. The desire for breaks fades as you focus on your breath and become adjusted to your environment.

You may feel very tired after class. This is common at first as this is something new that you are asking of your body. It is also a good sign that your body is responding to the yoga by cleansing and detoxifying. Conversely, you may feel extremely energized after class, so much so that you have difficulty sleeping. This is also a good sign that the yoga is working for you. With continued practice, many find that they need less sleep yet have more energy.

Yoga is a life long practice. Yoga is meant for all ages and all types of people. As long as you are focused on your breathing, doing the best that you can every time you practice, you will receive all the benefits.  Even if you are not as flexible or perfectly balanced as someone next to you, what you look like in the poses doesn’t matter. The goal is to stay focused on yourself and love who you see in the mirror.

Practice regularly. We recommend practicing 4-5 times per week to obtain the maximum benefits.  You will receive the same benefits with a reduced practice schedule – just in a longer period of time.



In order to create a peaceful yoga environment for all of our students to enjoy, we have the following rules :

  • Please arrive to class at least 10-15 minutes early. We lock the door when class begins! The studio is open 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after each class.
  • No shoes allowed in yoga room.
  • Cell phones are not allowed inside the yoga room.
  • Please refrain from conversation inside the yoga room.
  • Please remain inside the yoga room during class.
  • Gum is not allowed inside the yoga room.
  • Personal items are not permitted inside the yoga room.
  • Please do not walk through the yoga room while a class is in session.
  • Bring only your mat, towel and water into the yoga room.
  • If you choose to be in the front row, please remember you are an example to those behind you.  Please follow the sequence and refrain from doing advanced postures.
